| A contrasting pair of vehicles seen at Acton Works on 18th January 2025. On the left was TfL Toyota Yaris car 9111T, latterly based at Naval Row (Blackwall Tunnel). Toyota hybrid cars were leased for various users from 2017 onwards, but they are now in the process of being withdrawn. 9111T was initially replaced by a hired van but a new Renault Kangoo electric van was delivered in February. On the right is Ford Transit crew van 8286F, new in February 2017 and based at Acton Works ever since. It seems that 8-year old vans such as this are being retained for now, with no signs of any replacements yet, while 5-year old cars such as 9111T are on the way out. |
