This is the location which we have called Royal Oak Elizabeth Line. It has two parts, one on each side of Lord Hills Bridge. The yard to the east (opposite the Hammersmith & City line station platforms) has been shown on LTSV before, but now appears to be out of use. The yard to the west of the bridge contains a building, visible on the right here, which is actually atop the portals where the Elizabeth Line tracks emerge from the tunnel section. It also has a parking area which contained (on 1st April 2025) Elizabeth Line liveried Ford Transit crew van 8646F and TfL-branded Renault Kangoo electric crew van 9440R, plus a couple of hired or contractor's vehicles. This view was obtained by peering over the wall from the section of Harrow Road that is beneath the A40 Westway, but there is also a gated gap in the wall nearby, from which you can see into the yard. In the background are the Great Western mainline tracks out of Paddington. Interestingly, vehicular access to this yard is via a roadway that runs parallel to the railway almost as far as Paddington itself. |
