Subject: Vehicle 746P (TP) AEC Matador Breakdown Tender
Text: The VR is indeed wrong about a move to Tottenham, as Simon Kaye, then a mechanic at Leyton, reports:- The last operational Matador was 746P at Leyton. In the mid 70s, 747P and 750P were both dumped in the bay at Leyton as a source of spares for 746P. I think one of them donated its engine. Both were engineless when they left. One of the last jobs that 746P did was to front-lift the other two to Chiswick for disposal.
