This photo was taken for information rather than for publication, though it turns out to be slightly interesting. It is a zoom shot looking through the doorway of Potters Bar Garage on 1st April 2025, and it shows a Dynes Recovery DAF named Ali. AY74UJV has not appeared on LTSV before. The bus behind is Optare Solo OS68, which was new to Arriva the Shires as their 2468 in 2006. It passed to Arriva London as their OS68 in 2016, following company reorganisation, although it continued to be used on Hampstead Garden Suburb route H2. When that route was re-tendered to Metroline, OS68 was loaned to Metroline, pending the delivery of new Optare Solos. It was then retained to act as a spare, and was eventually bought by Metroline in November 2018, although it was not given a new fleetnumber in the Metroline series. In early 2022 it moved to Potters Bar for use on commercial routes (such as the 242, 305 and PB1). By 2025, only the PB1 remained, and OS68 only saw use as a back-up to electric Optare MetroCity OEM2750. Although no longer in TfL service, it was by then effectively the oldest bus still in passenger use with a 'red' London bus operator. The contract for route PB1 passed to Uno from 31st March, and OS68 was no longer needed. When seen the next day (1st April 2025), it was about to be towed away to the Hayes storage site, pending disposal. OEM2750 was also parked-up in the front yard, with its electronic destination display still on and programmed to show 'For sale'!
